Sent på nyttårsaften sitter tre alkoholikere og drikker mens de forteller hverandre historier. En av historiene er om «Kjørekarlen», dødens likvogn som fører de døde sjeler over til den andre siden. Fortellingen sier at den siste synderen som dør hvert år må ta over oppgaven som fører. Når klokken slår midnatt dør en av mennene, som tvinger ham til å reflektere over det livet han levde.

DRONEHENGE er et såkalt anti-band, bestående av Bergens ledende eksperimentelle artister. Bandet har verken permanent crew, øvelser eller faste komposisjoner. Alt man hører og opplever denne kvelden vil være improvisert.

One New Year’s Eve, three men meet up to get drunk and tell each other stories and folklore. One of them talks about the phantom known only as Death’s driver, a specter that carries the souls of the newly dead to the other side. The lore says that the last sinner who dies every year will take over as Death’s rider before they can cross to the other side themselves. At the stroke of midnight, one of the men dies, and he’s forced to reflect on his life before he can become the new rider.

DRONEHENGE is the world’s only anti-band consisting of Bergen’s leading experimental artists, synthesizing a broad spectrum of sounds. Together, they have boiled down the essence of concert practice to the only thing that actually counts: interaction.

There’s no permanent crew, rehearsals or compositions. Everything you will experience will be live and improvised.
